   The training of mining engineers and geologists began in 1918 at the Geological Faculty, opened at the Dnipropetrovsk Mining Institute. It was later transformed into the Geological and Mining-Geodesic Faculty     (1935), and then into the Geological Exploration Faculty (1952).
